Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy describes the limited information Badazi collects when you spend time with our reviews and shelves, what we do with it, and the choices that remain in your hands at every step. Continuing to use badazi.com is your acceptance of the practices below.

1. Who we are
Badazi (referred to in this document as “Badazi”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is the editorial team behind badazi.com — a modern reading publication that writes about influential ebooks and books with real cultural staying power. We run the site as an editorial reference, not as an ebook store, marketplace, or file host.
For any privacy question, request, or rights inquiry, the Badazi editorial desk reads every email sent to haithemhamtinee@gmail.com.
2. Information we collect
Badazi is intentionally light. We collect only what is necessary to keep the site running well, understand how shelves are read, comply with our legal obligations, and reply to your messages.
2.1 Information you give us
When you write to haithemhamtinee@gmail.com — to recommend a book, flag a typo, or open a longer conversation — you may share your name, your email address, and the contents of your message. We use that information only to write back to you and to keep an internal record of the exchange.
2.2 Information collected automatically
When your browser requests a Badazi page, our hosting and analytics tools receive standard server log information, which may include:
- Your IP address and an approximate, city-level location.
- Browser name, version, and preferred language.
- Operating system and device class (desktop, tablet, or mobile).
- The Badazi pages you visit, the page that referred you, and how long you stayed.
- Date, time, and time zone of each request.
We use this data only in aggregate, to understand which shelves get read, where the site is slow, and where abusive traffic is coming from. We do not try to attach a name or identity to any individual visitor based on these logs.
2.3 Cookies and similar technologies
Badazi uses a small, deliberate set of cookies and equivalent storage to:
- Remember light reader preferences such as theme and layout.
- Measure anonymous, aggregate traffic patterns.
- Serve and measure advertising, where it is shown.
You can review, restrict, or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time. Disabling essential cookies may cause parts of Badazi to behave unexpectedly.
3. How we use what we collect
The information described above is used only to:
- Keep Badazi online, secure, and reasonably fast.
- Decide which shelves to expand and which reviews to revisit.
- Diagnose bugs, broken links, and abusive traffic.
- Reply to messages you send the editorial desk.
- Meet our obligations under applicable law.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not use what you share with us to build a cross-site marketing profile, and we never combine reader emails with browsing logs to identify individual readers.
4. Advertising and third-party services
Badazi may show advertising delivered by independent ad networks, including (but not limited to) Google AdSense. Those networks may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to estimate which advertisements are most relevant to you, based on your visits to Badazi and to other websites you have used.
Each third-party network operates independently from Badazi and is governed by its own privacy policy. To learn how Google uses data from partner sites, see Google's privacy practices.
You can opt out of personalized advertising from many networks at once by visiting aboutads.info/choices or youronlinechoices.eu.
5. External links
Badazi book pages link out to third-party services such as Google Books, Goodreads, Amazon, Project Gutenberg, and publisher pages. When you follow one of those links you leave Badazi entirely, and the destination site's own privacy and tracking policies apply. We are not responsible for the conduct, content, or data practices of any third-party site we link to.
6. How long we keep data
We retain server logs and aggregate analytics only for as long as we genuinely need them to operate, troubleshoot, and improve Badazi. Email correspondence sent to the editorial desk is kept for as long as a reasonable archive of reader exchanges requires.
7. Your rights
Depending on the country or region you live in, you may have the right to access, correct, port, or delete the personal information we hold about you, to object to specific processing activities, or to withdraw a consent you previously gave. To exercise any of those rights, write to haithemhamtinee@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.
8. Children's privacy
Badazi is written for adult readers. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13 — or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction. If you believe a child has shared information with Badazi, please contact us and we will remove it without delay.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect information transmitted to and stored on Badazi. No connection over the internet is ever perfectly secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security against every possible threat.
10. Changes to this policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, the technologies we use, or the law. The current version will always live at this URL, with the "last updated" date at the top.
11. Contact us
If anything in this Privacy Policy is unclear, or you would like to make a request about your data, the Badazi editorial team is reachable at haithemhamtinee@gmail.com.
